After defeating Pearland Dawson, Nederland will face Georgetown in the 4A Divsion 1 playoffs in round 4. The Georgetown Eagles defeated the Angleton Wildcats at Gupton Stadium in Cedar Park, Texas in a 2:00 pm game on Saturday by the score of 49 to 39.
Nederland is one of three team that is holding there on in the Southeast Texas along side West Orange Stark and the Newton Eagles.
The 4th team in the area, the Silsbee Tigers were defeated by Carthage on Friday night in Lufkin leaving the 3 teams to the hope of the area for a state championship run.
It just so happens that the area is still represented in the Class 4A with Nederland, 3A with West Orange-Stark and 2A with the Newton Eagles.
Newton has already made their plans to play this Friday in Lufkin at 7:30 against Franklin.
Nederland now know they will face Georgetown in the Berry Complex in Houston at 3:00 pm on Saturday.
And may the biggest game of the week anywhere in the state of Texas no matter who you are rooting for is the #6 WOS game with the #2 state ranked Navasota team who took down La Marque 31 to 20.
